ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Modeling and Control of an Electrorheological Sandwich Beam
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper introduces models for electrorheological (ER) structures based on visco-elasticity and sandwich beam theory. The partial differential equations describing the dynamics of an ER sandwich ...
Adaptive Vibration Control of an Axially Moving String
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this paper, the displacement of an axially moving string is regulated using a control force and a control torque applied to the string via a mechanical guide. Given the hybrid model of ...
Parametric Control of Flexible Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: One position sensor, a bilinear observer, and quadratic, observer-based feedback to a parametric actuator asymptotically stabilize n-modes of a flexible system. Using a perturbation approach, the ...
Energy and Conserved Functionals for Axially Moving Materials
