ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Finding Only Finite Roots to Large Kinematic Synthesis Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this work, a new method is introduced for solving large polynomial systems for the kinematic synthesis of linkages. The method is designed for solving systems with degrees beyond 100,000, which often are found to possess ...
Design Exploration and Kinematic Tuning of a Power Modulating Jumping Monopod
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The leg mechanism of the novel jumping robot, Salto, is designed to achieve multiple functions during the sub-200 ms time span that the leg interacts with the ground, including minimizing impulse loading, balancing angular ...
Special Issue: Fabrication of Fully Integrated Robotic Mechanisms
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The past two decades have seen immense strides being made in novel fabrication techniques, particularly in additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, also known as “rapid prototyping†and “3D printing,†as well as ...
Integrated Manufacture of Exoskeletons and Sensing Structures for Folded Millirobots
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Inspired by the exoskeletons of insects, we have developed a number of manufacturing methods for the fabrication of structures for attachment, protection, and sensing. This manufacturing paradigm is based on infrared laser ...
Cockroach Milli-Robot With Improved Load Capacity
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In the field of milli-robots, several methods of constructing robots by laminating materials and then folding have been developed. Among these methods, smart composite microstructures (SCM) is widely used for making ...
