ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Stability Analysis of a 2” Floppy Disk Drive System and the Optimum Design of the Disk Stabilizer
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a study on the stability of a 2″ floppy disk drive system. A design method of the disk stabilizer that makes the rotating disk stable is presented. The stabilizer and ...
Dynamic Response of a Read/Write Head Floppy Disk System Subjected to Axial Excitation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The paper is concerned with the forced vibration of a read/write head floppy disk system subjected to axial excitation. The solution is obtained by applying the modal expansion method together ...
Position Control of a Flexible Arm Using Piezoelectric Bimorph Cells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Vibration and Deflection of a Silicon-Wafer Slicer Cutting the Crystal Ingot
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Vibration and deflection of a silicon-wafer slicer cutting the crystal ingot is studied analytically. The blade is clamped and then tensioned in the radial direction at the outer boundary. The ...
Stress Analysis of a Silicon-Wafer Slicer Cutting the Crystal Ingot
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In-plane stress distribution in a spinning free-clamped slicing blade is studied analytically. The blade is subjected to a stationary, distributed, in-plane slicing load along the inner periphery, ...
