ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

A Comparison of Approximate Versus Exact Geometrical Representations of Roughness for CFD Calculations of cf and St
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Skin friction (cf) and heat transfer (St) predictions were made for a turbulent boundary layer over randomly rough surfaces at Reynolds number of 1×106. The rough surfaces are scaled models ...
Three-Dimensional Local Yield Maps of Hard Coating Under Sliding Contact
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The local yield maps for the identification of the yield initiation positions of hard coating on three-dimensional (3D) elastic half space under sliding contact were developed. In this study, ...
Vortex-Induced Vibration Characteristics of an Elastic Square Cylinder on Fixed Supports
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The vortex-induced structural vibration of an elastic square cylinder, on fixed supports at both ends, in a uniform cross flow was measured using fiber-optic Bragg grating sensors. The measurements ...
