ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Time Optimal Seek Trajectories for a Dual Stage Optical Disk Drive Actuator
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A closed-form solution for the time optimal control of a dual actuator disk drive system that takes into account the physical constraint limiting the relative motion of the fine and coarse ...
Identification of a Nonlinear Function in a Dynamical System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Using an adaptive method introduced in (Messner et al., 1991), a standard identification technique for linear systems can be extended to identify nonlinear functions in dynamical systems under ...
Tracking Control of Robot Manipulators Using a Robust Deterministic Control Law
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: There have been theoretical developments on the control of dynamic systems based on deterministically uncertain and singularly perturbed models in recent years. In this paper, a robust deterministic ...
Functional Persistence of Excitation and Observability for Learning Control Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Adaptive systems involving function learning can be formulated in terms of integral equations of the first kind, possibly with separable, finite-dimensional kernels. The learning process involves ...
Implementation of Adaptive Techniques for Motion Control of Robotic Manipulators
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper is concerned with the digital implementation and experimental evaluation of two adaptive controllers for robotic manipulators. The first is a continuous time model reference adaptive ...
Experimental Implementation of a Deterministic Controller for a D.C. Motor With Uncertain Dynamics
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The control of d.c. motors is often complicated by the fact that the dynamics of the system to be controlled are unknown. In this paper a deterministic controller is employed to control a ...
