ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Design of Springs of Rectangular Wire Coiled Edgewise
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A technique is presented for the analysis of deflection and stresses in helical compression or tension springs of rectangular cross-section. The technique consists in analysing a cylinder cut ...
Design of Springs Made of Flat Material
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A technique is presented for the analysis of deflection and stresses in helical compression or tension springs of rectangular cross-section. The technique consists in analyzing the deflection and ...
Modelling of a Composite Prosthesis for Quasi-Cylindrical Ligaments
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A prosthesis for a cruciate ligament of the knee involves the problem of implanting a short and small spring for which the load-deformation response cannot be duplicated by any single man-made ...
Singular Solutions for Shallow Cylindrical Shells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Using solutions obtained by separation of variables, the set of singular solutions of the shallow cylindrical shell equation is completed by finding a particular integral of a second-order ...
Stresses and Deformations in a Cylindrical Shell Lying on a Continuous Rigid Support
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper develops a theoretical tool to predict rigorously the different types of contact between a cylindrical shell and a continuous rigid support for the complete range of pressure, vessel, ...
