ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Fatigue-Crack Growth in an X-65 Line-Pipe Steel at Low Cyclic Frequencies in Aqueous Environments
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The effects of salt and distilled water environments on fatigue-crack growth rates have been evaluated for an X-65 line-pipe steel. Tests were conducted over a frequency range between 10 and ...
Brittle Fracture in Heavy Section Welded T-Joints: Correlation Between Stress Intensity at Fracture and Small-Specimen Toughness Tests
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A fracture mechanics analysis has been made of brittle fractures encountered during a program of fatigue tests of welded plate T-joints. Fracture toughnesses are in reasonable agreement with ...
Thickness Effect and Fatigue Crack Development in Welded T-Joints
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The effect of section thickness on the fatigue life of welded plate-to-plate T-joints was studied experimentally and theoretically using various linear elastic fracture mechanics models. Fatigue ...
Fatigue Life Prediction of Welded Joints for Offshore Structures Under Variable Amplitude Loading
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes the development of a fracture mechanics model for the prediction of fatigue life of welded joints subjected to variable amplitude loading. The prediction program is based ...
