ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Analysis of the Flow-Type Manufacturing Systems Using the Cyclic Queuing Theory
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A stochastic mathematical model was built and solved by using cyclic queuing theory for the multistage flow-type automated manufacturing system which is composed of several automated machine ...
Machinability of Nodular Cast Irons: Part II—Effect of Cutting Conditions on Flank Adhesion
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: To determine the effects of cutting conditions on flank adhesion, nodular cast iron grade 60 was machined dry and wet with carbide cutting tools K6, cast iron cutting grade, and K4H, steel ...
Machinability of Nodular Cast Irons: Part III—Tool Life of Carbide and Ceramic Cutting Tools
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Three grades of nodular cast iron (60, 80, and 100) were tested to determine the tool life of carbide and ceramic cutting tool materials. Tool life for all tools was much greater for grade ...
Reliability Analysis of Parallel Manufacturing Systems with Two Machines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A stochastic mathematical model was built and analyzed by using the reliability theory for a manufacturing system in which two machines are arranged in parallel. Under the condition that the ...
Optimum Process Design for a Single-Stage Multifunctional Production System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A mathematical model is constructed for analysis of optimum process design of a multifunctional production system, such as machining centers, under the minimum-time criterion. Proposed computational ...
Optimization Analysis of Automated Assembly Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Optimization analysis for maximizing the total profit of an automated assembly system consisting of automated assembly machines and operators was performed. In this analysis, concepts of two kinds ...
Group Scheduling Technique for Multiproduct, Multistage Manufacturing Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: “Group Scheduling,” which is operations scheduling based on the Group Technology concept, was analyzed in a multistage manufacturing system. In the case of fabricating multiple parts (jobs) grouped ...
Product-Mix and Machine-Loading Analysis of Multistage Production Systems for Group Technology
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An analysis of a product-mix problem of multistage production systems was performed to optimally select parts to be processed in limited amounts of time available for given production facilities, ...
Machine Loading and Product-Mix Analysis for Group Technology
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An analysis for machine loading was performed to optimally select parts to be manufactured in a limited amount of time available by a given production facility by applying the Group Technology ...
Optimal Group Scheduling and Machining-Speed Decision Under Due-Date Constraints
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A group scheduling model which is associated with group technology concepts was developed on the multiple production stages. In group scheduling where jobs are classified into several groups, ...
