ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Turbocharger Unstable Operation Diagnosis Using Vibroacoustic Measurements
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The possibility to detect unstable operating condition (stall or surge) of an automotive turbocharger using vibration or acoustic measurements is studied. An experimental study is performed, in ...
Gas Turbine Test Parameters Corrections Including Operation With Water Injection
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Methods for correcting data from gas turbine acceptance testing are discussed, focusing on matters which are not sufficiently covered by existing standards. First a brief outline is presented ...
Comparison of Linear and Nonlinear Gas Turbine Performance Diagnostics
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The features of linear performance diagnostic methods are discussed, in comparison to methods based on full nonlinear calculation of performance deviations, for the purpose of condition monitoring ...
Uncertainty Reduction in Gas Turbine Performance Diagnostics by Accounting for Humidity Effects
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The paper presents an analysis of the effect of ambient humidity on the performance of industrial gas turbines and examines the impact of humidity on methods used for engine condition assessment ...
Identifying Faults in the Variable Geometry System of a Gas Turbine Compressor
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The influence of faults in the variable geometry (variable stator vanes) system of a multistage axial compressor on the performance of an industrial gas turbine is investigated. An experimental ...
Turbofan Performance Deterioration Tracking Using Nonlinear Models and Optimization Techniques
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A method of identifying the gradual deterioration in the components of jet engines is presented. It is based on the use of an engine model which has the capability to adapt component condition ...
Allocating the Causes of Performance Deterioration in Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Plants
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A method for defining which parts of a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant are responsible for performance deviations is presented. When the overall performances deviate from their ...
Analysis of the Effects of Water Injection on the Performance of a Gas Turbine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The effect of water injection in the combustion chamber of an industrial gas turbine is studied by means of analytic relations. Equations for the estimation of changes in the main performance ...
Nonlinear Engine Component Fault Diagnosis From a Limited Number of Measurements Using a Combinatorial Approach
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A method for diagnosing component faults of jet engines is presented. It uses nonlinear gas path analysis techniques to determine the values of health parameters, with the help of a suitably ...
Setting Up of a Probabilistic Neural Network for Sensor Fault Detection Including Operation With Component Faults
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The diagnostic ability of probabilistic neural networks (PNN) for detecting sensor faults on gas turbines is examined. The structure and the features of a PNN, for sensor fault detection, are ...
