ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

On the Weathering of Thin Plastic Films
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A program is described for the controlled degradation and evaluation of thin plastic film samples in a set of parallel (in time) exposures. The intent of the various exposures is to separate ...
Design of Forging Process Parameters With Deformation and Temperature Constraints
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a methodology for designing optimal process parameters for forging operations. The nonlinear rigid viscoplastic finite element (FE) method is used for deformation and thermal ...
Correlating the Flammability Limits of Fuel-Diluent Mixtures
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A simple method based on analysis of experimental flammability limits data is described for the calculation of the lean and rich flammability limits in air of common gaseous fuels (e.g., ...
Design of Floated Shoe Close Clearance Seals for Supersonic Jet Engine Compressors
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The increase in engine efficiency to be gained by substituting a floated close running air seal at the high pressure end of large jet engine compressors, in place of the labyrinth seal, has ...
A Shotcrete System Using a Robot
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes the problems and solutions raised in an experimental approach for a shotcrete underground system design. The system consists of a retrofit dry-wet process dual purpose ...
