ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Application of Exergy Concept to the Analysis of Optimum Operating Conditions of Solar Heat Collectors
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A linear model was developed to obtain the relationships between the characteristic temperatures of the solar heat collector (e.g., the fluid outlet temperature) and the heat capacitance rate ...
An Experimental Investigation of Cylindrical Roller Bearings Having Annular Rollers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This study deals with an experimental investigation of a cylindrical roller bearing having annular rollers. Comparisons are made with a solid roller bearing having the same configuration and ...
An Advanced 12Cr Steel Rotor Applicable to Elevated Steam Temperature 593°C
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The upper limit of steam temperature which 12Cr steel rotors can withstand has been considered to be 566°C, but the recent projects on the advanced steam turbine of large capacity demand ...
Application of Adaptive Control Theory to On-Line GTA Weld Geometry Regulation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This study addresses the uses of adaptive schemes for on-line control of backbead width in the Gas Tungsten Arc (GTA) welding process. Open-loop tests using a step input current confirm the ...
Simple Modeling and Analysis for Crankshaft Three-Dimensional Vibrations, Part 1: Background and Application to Free Vibrations
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: To simplify the analysis of the three-dimensional vibrations of automobile engine crankshafts under firing conditions, the crankshaft was idealized by a set of jointed structures consisting of ...
Cascade Connection of Solar Collectors for Effective Energy Gain
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The theoretical analysis and optimization of two different types of solar collectors connected in series are presented. The energetical approach to the cascade system with two types of collectors ...
Design and Construction of IFMIF/EVEDA Lithium Test Loop
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility (IFMIF) is a D+–Li neutron source aimed at producing an intense high energy neutron flux (2 MW/m2) for testing candidate fusion reactor ...
