ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Pressure Surge Propagation in Thick-Walled Conduits of Rectangular Cross Section
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper discusses the propagation of pressure surge phenomena in liquids contained in thick-walled pipes and ducts of rectangular cross section. It is shown that the effects of shear forces ...
Check Valve Behavior Under Transient Flow Conditions: A State-of-the-Art Review
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Recent advances in the understanding of check valve behavior are reviewed. It is evident that the basis now exists for providing reliable information on valve dynamics that is in a form that ...
Pressure Transients in Hydraulic Pipelines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Equations of motion for a cylindrical tube containing a fluid are developed from a consideration of the forces and moments in the tube wall. These equations are solved for boundary conditions ...
