ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Thermal Destruction Behavior of Plastic and Nonplastic Wastes in a Laboratory-Scale Facility
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Experimental and theoretical studies are presented from a laboratory-scale thermal destruction facility on the destruction behavior of surrogate plastic and nonplastic solid wastes. The nonplastic ...
Thermal Destruction of Solid Wastes
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The United States generates the largest amount of solid waste per person in the world. The old practice of direct landfilling and storage is receiving greater public resistance and is attributing ...
Effect of Air Preheat Temperature and Oxygen Concentration on Flame Structure and Emission
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The structure of turbulent diffusion flames with highly preheated combustion air (air preheat temperature in excess of 1150°C) has been obtained using a specially designed regenerative ...
Flow Aerodynamics Modeling of an MHD Swirl Combustor: Calculations and Experimental Verification
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes a computer code for calculating the flow dynamics of constant density flow in the second stage trumpet shaped nozzle section of a two stage MHD swirl combustor for ...
Erratum: “Flow Aerodynamic Modeling of an MHD Swirl Combustor: Calculation and Experimental Verification” (Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1982, pp. 385–392)

Modal Combination in Response Spectrum Analysis of Piping Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Modal combination methods in the response spectrum analysis of piping systems have been investiaged. Two particular effects are identified, viz, (i) the residual rigid response, also known as ...
Effect of Swirl on Combustion Characteristics in Premixed Flames
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A double concentric premixed swirl burner is used to examine the structure of two different methane-air premixed flames. Direct flame photography together with local temperature data provides an ...
Rational and Economical Multicomponent Seismic Design of Piping Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The seismic analysis of complex piping systems is often carried out by the response spectrum method. The maximum probable responses are calculated as the square root of the sum of the squares ...
