ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Optimized Bands: A New Design Concept for Concentrating Solar Parabolic Mirrors
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Parabolic concentrator mirrors are an important component of many solar energy systems, particularly solar mirror collectors. Precision parabolic mirrors are expensive to fabricate and to transport. ...
Thermal-Structural Performance of Orthotropic Pin Fin in Electronics Cooling Applications
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Thermally conductive composites as compared to metals have reduced density, decreased oxidation, and improved chemical resistance, as well as adjustable properties to fit a given application. ...
Performance of Al-6063 Primary and Secondary Billets Used in Hot Aluminum Extrusion
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The service life of tooling plays an important part in the economics of the extrusion process. A number of causes are considered responsible for initiating damage to the dies before its ...
Thermal Analysis and Optimization of Orthotropic Pin Fins: A Closed-Form Analytical Solution
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Analytical solutions for temperature distribution, heat transfer rate, and fin efficiency and fin effectiveness are derived and presented for orthotropic two-dimensional pin fins subject to ...
Optimization of Pipe Repair Sleeve Design
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: For the repair of pipeline defects, repair sleeves are the most widely used method in petrochemical industry. The objective of this work was to optimize the thickness of nonpressure containing ...
