Abstract: In the analysis of thin turbulent films, approximations must be made in (a) the calculation of the relationship between flow and wall stress, (b) the effects of inertia at steps, and (c) the effects of roughness. The state of such approximations is discussed and, where appropriate, different approaches are compared.
