description abstractMethods are established for the determination of upper bounds on plastic strains and displacements after the adaptation (shakedown) of elastoplastic systems subjected to varying loads and straining effects, in the presence of significant inertia and viscous damping forces. A broad class of piecewise liner hardening rules are covered. Discrete structural models and piecewise linear yield loci are assumed and, consequently, mathematical programming notions and techniques are used.
