    Abstract: The City of Huntington Beach, through the Department of Harbors and Beaches, established a two year environmental coastline study in November, 1971. The study has incorporated the support of surrounding colleges and universities, as well as technical expertise from local aerospace companies. One result of the study is the mapping of sewage fields in the area of an outfall by microbial population analysis and of their dissemination according to the existence and strength of ocean thermoclines.
