Abstract: The time micro and macroscales are computed from measured energy spectra in the fully developed region of a submerged circular water jet. The corresponding longitudinal scales are approximated using Taylor’s frozen turbulence hypothesis. The microscale is found essentially constant whereas the macroscale, although increasing linearly along the axis, does not show similarity in the total field.
