    Abstract: It is made clear that the influence of wall conductance on the pressure and load capacity of the magnetohydrodynamic thrust bearing must be considered when the inertia effect under the condition of high-speed rotation cannot be ignored. Further, by the numerical examples, the optimum bearing materials to improve the bearing performance under these conditions are determined.
