description abstractThe silver jubilee of the International Symposium on Ballistics marks three important events: the selection of Beijing as the symposium venue, the founding of the new International Ballistics Society, and the appearance of this issue of the Journal of Applied Mechanics, containing peer reviewed ballistic papers.
