description abstractA system of suitable stress-strain relations as well as equations of equilibrium are derived and solved for the torsion of sandwich plates of trapezoidal cross section. The facings are treated as isotropic solid membranes of equal thickness while the core is of such a nature that its stiffnesses associated with plane-stress components are negligibly small.
