Abstract: I am pleased to announce that in January 2007, the Journal of Mechanical Design will begin monthly publication. Over the past four years the rate of submissions has doubled, as has the number of published papers. And the journal has grown to serve a global research community. The web-based submission statistics show that close to 1600 papers from 57 countries have been submitted since January 2003, with less than 30% coming from the United States.
