Abstract: Over the past several years authors who have published in the Journal of Mechanical Design have recognized the recent work by their colleagues to such an extent that the journal impact factor jumped from 0.4 references in 2004 per paper published in 2002 and 2003, to over 1.2 references in 2005 per paper published in 2003 and 2004.
