| description abstract | A method to synthesize a planar five-bar mechanism of variable topology type with transmission angle control is suggested. The method is useful to reduce the solution space and thus the number of trials and the time required for synthesis. Synthesis of mechanism for function, motion and path generation for two finitely separated positions is considered. The portion of the five-bar linkage in each phase is assumed to be a crank type four-bar mechanism. | |
