    On the Behavior of Grooved Plate Thrust Bearings With Compressible Lubricant

    Source: Journal of Tribology:;1968:;volume( 090 ):;issue: 001::page 226

    Abstract: The equations for pressure and load for a grooved plate bearing are derived by assuming that the grooves are sinusoidal rather than square. The usual assumption of zero groove width is thus removed. The effects of groove width and lubricant compressibility are examined independently. Finally, limiting solutions for high compressibility numbers are obtained.
