description abstract | The problem of the design of oblique flow headers for heat exchangers flowing low density fluids is considered. It is demonstrated by test that the theory already available in the literature provides an adequate basis for design for the single-pass “parallel flow” and “counterflow” configurations. The theory is summarized in the form of design equations and illustrated by specific application to the air-side flow in a gas turbine regenerator. | |
