description abstractThe progress of a transformed phase into an elastic-plastic parent phase is simulated by a growing sphere. The transformation is accompanied by a dilatational volume change. The strain and stress state in the full space is presented. In addition, the local and global energy terms are calculated. Finally the thermodynamic forces on the interface are derived. Also strain hardening is considered. [S0021-8936(00)00304-4]
