Abstract: A parametric model of the joint distribution of successive wave periods obtained as best fit to observed wave data is presented. The wave data were obtained from measurements at the Frigg field, central North Sea in 100 m water depth including more than 3 million individual waves. It appears that the parametric model gives a good representation of the main statistical properties of the measured data.
