description abstractThis paper presents the transient stress distribution in a perfectly elastic isotropic annular fin. The nonlinear transient conduction-convection-radiation heat tranafer annular fin equation is solved by the hybrid method of the Taylor transformation and the finite difference approximation. The temperature distribution curve is employed by the natural cubic spline fitting. The stress distribution is directly integrated to obtain the transient thermal stress distribution.
