description abstractA three-dimensional homogenization model is developed to predict the overall dynamic behavior of a beam bundle. It is shown that the model is transversely isotropic. This characteristic simplifies the governing equation of the model in the manner that only one scalar parameter appears in it. Transverse isotropy means that any direction in the plane perpendicular to the axis of the beam is the principal direction.
