description abstractWe formulate and solve the boundary value problem of a linearly elastic, infinite Cosserat plate which contains a circular hole and which is loaded in tension at infinity. The effect of hole radius, plate thickness, and material parameters on the stress concentration at the hole is discussed. We also discuss the stress concentration when the plate is subjected to pure shear.
