    Abstract: The Virtual Contact Loading Method is developed in this paper to study the load distributions in bolt-nut connectors and threaded pipe joints. A simplified three-dimensional computational model is proposed in order to simulate the threaded connections. The calculated results for the bolt-nut connectors agree well with those from previous analytical and numerical methods. This method is of satisfactory efficiency and accuracy.
