description abstractAn approximate solution to the problem of steady laminar flow near a rotating disk is presented. It is based upon the idea of stretching of the independent variable and the minimization of the residual in a differential equation using the least squares method. The solution is simple and gives results which compare favorably with those obtained by other approximate methods.
