    Dynamically Loaded Journal Bearings: Position of Maximum Pressure Ratio

    Source: Journal of Tribology:;1995:;volume( 117 ):;issue: 003::page 558
    Author:
    F. A. Martin
    DOI: 10.1115/1.2831291
    Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
    Abstract: The position of the maximum “pressure ratio” in dynamically loaded bearings, using short bearing theory, has previously been published only in graphical (map) form. Simple equations are derived here so that this position (relative to the load line) can be obtained directly in numerical form.
