Abstract: Remaining life assessments were conducted on in-service catalytic reformer furnace tubes that had been operating 21 yr. These assessments were made with both API RP 530 (Appendix E) and the new Project Omega method. Small sections from the furnaces were removed and creep rupture tests conducted using the Omega methodology, and the remaining life was determined. These tests showed that the furnace tubes had negligible damage.
