description abstractThe application of the Modified Delaware Method, which was developed by Weber and Worek (1994) to evaluate the design performance of a feedwater heater with a short drain cooler, is illustrated. All calculations used in obtaining the heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops in the desuperheating, condensing, and drain cooling zones are shown by applying the method to an actual heater design.
