Abstract: Image processing and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machining techniques have been used to prepare a larger-than-life investment cast of an aortic bifurcation from magnetic resonance images of a replica of the vessel. The technique will facilitate experimental studies of vascular fluid dynamics and permit the in vitro reproduction of flows in living subjects.
