description abstractThis paper presents an experimental study of the performance of a forced convection glazed solar collector/regenerator (C/R) operated under the meteorological conditions of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The C/R is the key component of an open-cycle absorption solar cooling system because its performance directly indicates the system performance. The present results show that the counterflow case can improve the C/R efficiency when inlet solution concentration is low. The effects of individual parameter on the C/R performance are analyzed. Dimensionless heat and mass transfer coefficients are given.
