    Abstract: The experimental drawing of SAE 1008 steel bars was performed for different reductions in area (r) and die semi-angles (α). The redundant deformation factor (φ) was evaluated for each case using two techniques: microhardness profiles and stress-strain curves superposition. The experimental values of φ obtained by the two techniques were not in agreement.
