Abstract: A closed-form of Reynolds equation is found for non-Newtonian inelastic fluids with a general constitutive equation by assuming that Couette flow dominates Pouiseuille flow. The roughness effects of the bearing surfaces are incorporated into the flow factors of an average Reynolds equation obtained by the technique of two scale analysis.
