description abstract | In this paper, an investigation of the cutting performance of a cemented carbide drill with three cutting edges is reported. Drilling tests were performed in which the eccentricity, straightness, cylindricity, and roundness of machined holes were measured using the least squares technique. Surface roughness was also measured. The investigation showed that the cemented carbide drill with three cutting edges is more effective than a conventional drill with two cutting edges, except for cylindricity. | |
