description abstract | Thermohydrodynamic analysis of a full journal bearing with a realistic model for the bushing made of two distinct layers is presented. The governing equations and an efficient numerical solution technique are discussed. It was found that the maximum bearing temperature is more sensitive to the thermal conductivity of the bearing liner than that of the backing metal. Results are provided for estimating the maximum bearing temperature. | |
