    Abstract: Probabilistic design of the tethers of a tension leg platform is described. It is used to determine the maximum and minimum tension in tethers for the intact condition. The reliability of the tethers for maximum and minimum tension when one tether is missing has been calculated. Also, the reliability of maximum and minimum tension in the tethers as a function of flooding of a corner column has been calculated.
