description abstractThe static response of isotropic reinforced panels in nonuniform thermal fields is discussed. The effects of temperature on material properties are included into consideration. The governing equations formulated in the Note allow the solution both by energy methods and using equilibrium equations. The theory is applied to estimation of the effect of a uniform temperature on stability of compressed reinforced panels and to the problem of thermal bending of unstiffened plates.
