Abstract: The effect of changing an element of thread geometry of the complete coupling on the maximum local stress occurring in a threaded tether connection is investigated using a previously validated analog-numerical technique. Results are presented for changes in tooth fillet radius, pitch, wall thickness and the number of engaged teeth.
