Abstract: Following Part 1 of this work, which discussed the theory behind the design of an Enhanced Quality Evaluation System (EQES), Part 2 addresses the construction of the rule base which classifies how the transfer function of the process has changed and also details the least squares algorithms used to estimate the magnitude and time of occurrence of the change. An example showing how EQES could be used to improve the quality of a turning process is given. Also shown are results of a physical experiment which used EQES to monitor changes in force signals from an end milling process.
