description abstractA novel liquid desiccant dehumidifier/regenerator system is described in this paper. The system involves continuous dehumidification of air and simultaneous desiccant regeneration without the use of mechanical circulation. During initial tests, the measured COP was of the order of 0.3 even with regenerator temperatures as low as 50° C. Overall considerations indicated that for the purposes of solar air conditioning, this system has several important advantages over other methods.
