description abstractThis second part of a twofold article presents the operating system associated with the physical model. Basic control laws and operating rules are described, and the global model is validated comparing energy balances for a sunny day and the model production results. Then, three examples using the model to improve the plant utilization are presented. First, an improved control law for the salt mass flow rate in the receiver is proposed. Then, we use the model to estimate the secondary-loop conditioning cost with various operating strategies. Finally, we make basic modifications of procedures to increase electricity production on cloudy days.
