description abstractThis paper discusses the theory of evaporative cooling and describes the application of wetted rigid media evaporative coolers to gas turbines. Calculations of parameters used to predict evaporative cooler performance are included. Also included are discussions of evaporative cooler design, installation, operation, feedwater quality, and the causes and prevention of water carry-over.
