| description abstract | The steady-state ablation of reinforced plastic is analyzed, and a new solution for the pyrolysis-zone equations is presented. Attention is directed to the effect of combustion of gases of ablation in the boundary layer at low free-stream, total-enthalpy conditions with a numerical example. The solution may be used to predict ablation rate, surface temperature, temperature distribution in the plastic, and the effect of physical and chemical properties of the materials. | |
